strong and easy to follow.
· We have a good team of skilled
filmmakers.
· We have a talented, sought after actor
who is enthusiastic about the project.

facilities/resources.
·
|
· We do not have a lot of time to
produce the film and submit it to MoFilm.
· Not knowing how to properly grade the
footage.
· Not having a heavier camera, so the
Glidecam may not keep the camera stable.

Target Audience
In my research I have been looking at other Music is My_ films. In these I have found that there are some main key aspects:
Urban exploring - Many videos have been shot in urban spaces; many of them abandoned or disadvantaged areas.
Sub culture – The featured person in many of the videos is distinctively a part of a sub- culture and many of the past commissioned films have ahipster/Indie feel to them.
Storyline and people – The storyline and people in all past examples seem very authentic. You can tell from their words and the way they say them, that music is something that transforms and is core to their lives and it is this character storytelling which sells the product.
Cinematography – The cinematography in the short films is as important as the story being told. There is the frequent use of sliders and handheld camerawork as well as a constant shallow depth of field.
The audience Bose are aiming at is young ABC1 energetic fashionable adults who are interested in street culture and urban life.
Developing the Idea
My plan is to record the life of an actor staring in a fictitious film. The actor will use Bose headphones to listen to certain music to get them in the mood for each scene.
They will explain how they use the music, what kind of music they listen to, why they listen to it and how effective it is.
·
It shall be called ‘Music is
My_Character’
The short promo will see the actor getting their
script and rehearsing their lines. They will voice a narration letting the
audience know who they are, what music means to them and how it helps them to
be creative. We will see him performing his lines, practicing and listening to
the music – each time getting better. At the end of the film he will arrive on
set, take out his earphones and perform the same scene in front of the camera.
Below are a collection of the kind of shots we want to achieve in the film: we want it to show the actor in their day to day life, using the bus or the train, walking around streets and visiting the locations of their film to get a feel for the atmosphere of it. We want to show them getting into the music and the script. We also want to show them being creative with it and how they work.
Developing Ideas
Ideas:
A filmmaker who
uses music as inspiration when making films.
A writer who
uses the music to get them in the mood to write particular scenes and to
inspire them to come up with new stories and characters.
An actor who
uses music to get them in the mood for certain scenes and helps them get into
character.
An illustrator
who uses music to help them get in the mood when drawing certain characters and
helps them to come up with visual ideas based on the music.
The idea we
have settled upon is the film about the actor who uses music to help them get
into character.
We know that the locations are equally as important as the characters. Here are some sketches of the kinds of places we want to feature in our promo.
The reason we chose this is that we feel that people can relate to the people they see in front of the camera that we can see as opposed to those behind the scenes in the more work based creative roles. Choosing an actor allows us to explore how they an physically express the way the music makes them feel which is something our other ideas would not have been able to show considering they would just put their inspiration onto paper or into a document.

The creative media sector is a competitive industry to gain employment
in. Employers are always looking for students with the skills and experience in
a range of disciplines. Your portfolio will be one of the first things people
will see so it’s important that you have a piece of work that you have managed
from the ideas stage to the pitching and the production.
Assignment Brief:
Originate, develop and research an idea for a media product in an
online sketch book.
Bose is
looking for films to drive positive awareness of their campaign platform ‘Music
Is My ___’ as part of a forthcoming SoundLink Headphone Campaign. They want
films created by young minded people for young minded people.
I am going to plan and produce a promotional film for Bose’s ‘Music Is
My_’ campaign. I found the project on MoFilm and I believe the task to be the
most achievable for me with my current skillset knowledge of filmmaking. It
also looks to be the cheapest to produce, as cost will be a factor in the
project.
Bose MoFilm Brief:
Develop a
short film to show how music transforms your experiences; referencing the
campaign platform ‘Music Is My ___’ (e.g. ‘Music Is My Energy drink’, Music is
My Refuge, Music is my healer'...).
The people
featured should be interesting and authentic. Show that music allows them to
get more out of themselves and/or the situation they are in.
Bose doesn't
care what music people listen to so long as music is used as an inspiration and
they listen through Bose products. The short film should also drive positive
awareness of their company.
